 Margaret Findlay

Scottish Artist

"Findlay's near abstract pictures of a derelict farmhouse, outbuildings and workers' cottages reminded me some of Braque's cubist fantasies... Her work is grounded, literally, in the here and now - or perhaps more accurately, the here and then - as she invites us to contemplate the lives which might have been lived out in these abandoned buildings. The poetry of her statement about the works spoke to me, too: Here are "echoes of what once was but would be gone forever"."                                                                                                                                          Ullapool News
